  • The entrance for museum guests is at the intersect of South Central and Atlanta Avenue in Hapeville. There is a green sign post that says, “Open”.

  • Both sides of the museum are accessible via ramp. There are entrances to the museum and gallery that are on the ground level without any steps. The gallery space and railroad history exhibit have smooth flooring and the original freight room has bumpy, uneven wooden floorboards. The original freight room has steps and can also be accessed by a ramp on the other side of the building.

  • Yes! Visitor Information is available Here. The museum is open Wednesday-Saturday 11am-5pm and is free to all. Additionally, the grounds are open for free every day from dawn to dusk.  

  • If changes need to be made to your reservation, the best way to reach us is by email at info@hapevilledepot.org. You can also leave us a voicemail at: 404-669-2175, but emailing is strongly preferred.

  • We ask that you arrive early enough to park, use restrooms as needed, and meet the tour at the designated location. 15 minutes ahead of time is usually sufficient.

  • No. Self-guided access is available upon entry unless events are otherwise specified on the museum’s Calendar.

  • No, we would prefer that large bags are not brought into the museum, due to the small space. Luggage can be held at the front of the museum at the request and responsibility of the owner.

  • Yes! Hapeville has wonderful options for entertainment, adventure, drinks, dining and more. After your visit, you can explore our Visitor Center which has recommendations on what to do after the museum. Hapeville is a safe, fun and vibrant community filled with activities for tourists.
